Meridian Manor


'Dementia Support Group': This group meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. for caregivers, family members or friends of anyone suffering from Alzheimer's or a related dementia.

Tuesday, Nov. 19

'Life Saving Training with Minnetonka Firefighters': The Minnetonka Fire Department will present this life-saving bystander CPR/AED class, which teaches CPR skills and AED use to greatly increase rates of survival for cardiac arrest victims at 10:30 a.m. Free.

Through Dec. 16

'Tai Chi Chih': This action is a series of 19 easy-to-learn movements and one pose. This moving meditation may improve balance and flexibility, reduce stress, increase energy and more. Continuing beginner will be from 10-11 a.m. and intermediate will be from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Mondays. $24.


Book club: This group will meet the third Thursday of the month at 1 p.m.

'Computer Interests': This group will meet Fridays at 10 a.m.

'Art Drop IN': Every Monday morning painters are welcome to drop in and paint at the center in the Minnetonka Mills Room until noon.

Billiards: Come in to play pool in the afternoons Monday-Friday. Free.

Pickle ball: Come and enjoy this mini-tennis game at the Williston Center Monday-Friday. Times vary, see visit www.eminnetonka.com for details. Free.

Bingo: Play every Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. in the Glen Lake Room. The cost is 5 cents per card, per game. Bring quarters, dimes and nickels to play.

'Over 50 and Fit': This exercise group meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9-10 a.m. Annual fee is $12.

'Tonka Tale Tellers': Seniors travel to elementary schools within the area to tell and animate stories. This group meets the second Monday of the month at 10 a.m.

Plymouth Creek Center


Caregiver support group: Learn from others caring for an older adult. A social worker from Senior Community Services facilitates the group, which meets the third Wednesday of the month from 10-11:30 a.m. For more information call Susan Makela at 763-509-5284.

'Scandinavian Churches of Minnesota': Doug Ohman will lead this lecture to explore the rich Scandinavian heritage of Minnesota through many unique churches. Ohman will share pictures, stories and personal experiences of his travels throughout the North Star state in Marion Hall at 10 a.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 3

'Hope for a Better World': This first part in a five-part lecture series will be "Our Common Dreams & Our Divided World" featuring Robert Schmidt, who will help participants analyze current societal and world problems from a political perspective, examine ethical frameworks for a global society and more in Marion Hall at 10 a.m. Free.

Tai Chi: This class meets Mondays at 10 a.m.

Bingo: Fridays at 1 p.m.

'Chair Class': This exercise class addresses the needs and challenges of those who need to be in the stabilizing safety of a chair. Classes held on Wednesdays from 2:30-3 p.m.

Craft group: Fridays from 9 a.m.-noon.

Dance fitness: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:15-9:15 a.m. $4.

'Fit Ball Class': Improve core strength, flexibility, balance, posture and back health with classes Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10-10:45 a.m.

Line dancing: Classes are held Wednesdays from 1-2 p.m.

Lunch: Seniors who are 55 and older can enjoy lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:45 a.m. Reservations required by noon the day before. $3-$5.
