The Minnetonka Skippers will take their 5-0 record on the road this weekend when they play at Hill-Murray on Saturday, Dec. 7. The game will be the team's first since Nov. 19 when they defeated Apple Valley 8-2. Presley Norby (6 goals, 4 assists) and Sydney Baldwin (2 goals, 8 assists) lead the team in scoring.
Trojans remain undefeated
The Wayzata Trojans improved to 7-0-1 on the season with a 7-0 victory over Tartan on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Carly Noble scored two goals and added an assist in the win, while goaltender McKenna Lorenz made 12 saves to earn the shutout. The Trojans will look to remain undefeated this weekend when they travel to Cloquet-Esko-Carlton on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Orono tops Alexandria
The Orono Spartans improved to 5-3 on the season with a 5-1 victory over Alexandria on Saturday, Nov. 30. The Spartans also defeated Rogers 3-0 on Tuesday, Nov. 26 behind goals from Becky Smith, Celine Pelto and Katherine Spurlock. Goaltender Sophia Sterling made 17 saves to earn the shutout. The Spartans will play at Blake on Saturday, Dec. 7.
White Hawks keep up winning ways
The Mound Westonka White Hawks improved to 5-2 on the season with a 4-0 victory over Alexandria on Friday, Nov. 29. Hunter Gallus scored two goals and added an assist in the victory, while goaltender Emma Polusny stopped 29 shots to earn the shutout. The White Hawks will host Prior Lake on Tuesday, Dec. 3. They will also play at Holy Family on Thursday, Dec. 5 and host Chaska/Chanhassen on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Bears struggle at tournament
The Blake Bears dropped games to Benilde-St. Margaret's and Breck in the Edina Tournament on Nov. 29-30 to fall to 3-3 on the season. The Bears got goals from Karlie Lund and Jordan Chancellor to take a 2-1 lead over Breck early in the third period, but the Mustangs responded with four unanswered goals to grab a 5-2 victory. The Bears have three games on the schedule this week beginning with a road game at Minnehaha Academy on Tuesday, Dec. 3. They will then play at the St. Paul Blades on Thursday, Dec. 5 before hosting Orono on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Skippers jump to 2-0 start
The Minnetonka Skippers are off to a 2-0 start this season after victories over Anoka and Hibbing/Chisholm. The Skippers got goals from Brendan Skarda, Ben Hersman and Ty Cousineau in a 3-2 win over Anoka on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Jacob Berger stopped 25 shots in goal to earn the victory. In the team's 5-0 victory over Hibbing/Chisholm on Friday, Nov. 29, the Skippers got two goals and an assist from Nick Greene. Cousineau and Gavin Payne each had a goal and an assist. Thomas Hanson stopped 16 shots in goal to earn the shutout. The Skippers will host Lakeville North on Tuesday, Dec. 3 before traveling to Bloomington Jefferson on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Trojans split games on the road
The Wayzata Trojans moved to 3-2 on the young season after splitting a pair of games in northern Minnesota last weekend. Six different players scored goals as the Trojans defeated Hermantown 6-1 on Friday, Nov. 29. Max Zimmer and Alex Stevens each had one goal and two assists in the victory, while goaltender Vaughn Ahrens made 26 saves. The Trojans led Duluth East 2-1 on Saturday, Nov. 30 but gave up two goals in the final two and a half minutes and fell 3-2. The Trojans will host Apple Valley on Tuesday, Dec. 3 before traveling to Burnsville on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Spartans rebound after early loss
The Orono Spartans are off to a 1-1 start this season after falling 1-0 to Chanhassen on Tuesday, Nov. 26 and defeating New Ulm 6-2 on Saturday, Nov. 30. William Le Neave and Tripp Renard each had two goals in the win over New Ulm, while goaltender Jonathon Flakne made 19 saves. The Spartans will host St. Cloud Apollo on Friday, Dec. 6 and Hermantown on Saturday, Dec. 7.
White Hawks run record to 2-2
The Mound Westonka White Hawks earned a split in two games in northern Minnesota last weekend to run their record to 2-2 on the season. The White Hawks suffered an 8-0 loss to Warroad on Friday, Nov. 29, but bounced back on Saturday, Nov. 30 to defeat Lake of the Woods 4-1. Hunter Smith and Tommy Ewing each recorded a goal and an assist in the win, while Jude Pierce and Josh Mazurek each had two assists. Jack Leschisin stopped 19 of 20 shots in the net to earn the victory. The White Hawks' only game this week is a road contest at Irondale on Thursday, Dec. 5.
Providence starts season Dec. 3
The Providence Academy Lions will be looking for their first victory of the season this week when they host Breck on Tuesday, Dec. 3. The Lions (0-2) will also host Shakopee on Thursday, Dec. 5 and Richfield on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Bears bounce back with two wins
The Blake Bears improved to 2-1 on the season after picking wins at Thief River Falls and Crookston last weekend. The Bears got goals from Johnny Ferguson, Cade Gleekel and Mark Lyman in a 3-1 victory over Thief River Falls on Friday, Nov. 29. Charlie Hartwell had a hat trick while Gleekel recorded two goals and two assists in the team's 9-2 win over Crookston on Saturday, Nov. 30. The Bears will play at Totino-Grace on Thursday, Dec. 5 before hosting Duluth Marshall on Saturday, Dec. 7.
